Tofu and mushrooms (4 serves)
Put the tofu in a bowl and sprinkle with the sesame oil, Toshiyaki sauce and a large pinch of black pepper. Leave to marinate for at least 15min. Turn them around some time so that the tofu gets marinated more evenly. Meanwhile, place a little oil, the garlic and ginger in an unheated pan. Put it on a stove then start cooking. This prevents garlic and ginger from being burnt while they are properly cooked. After the flavours and the smells of garlic and ginger are evident, add the mushrooms and the shallots. Cook until the mushrooms are tender. Season to taste. Pour over the marinated tofu into the pan. Bring Toshiyaki sauce to the boil, then simmer until the sauce gets thickened to your consistency. Sprinkle the chopped chives to finish. |
